The Long Borders 2

Here are planted a pair Hoheria lylalii, a summer-flowering tree from New Zealand, and a Eucryphia, a late-flowering tree from South America (its pair died, having been bark-ringed by mice).

There are some shrubs, as well as bulbs and annuals, but from the early Peony mlokosvitchii and Euphorbia griffithii 'Fireglow' to the late Aconitums, sedums and helianthus, these borders are planned to be constantly interesting all summer long. The backing hedges are hornbeam and yew, still immature, but coming along nicely.
