Lawns.
Lawns are something to be enjoyed in other gardens. We have 'Grass'.
This substance is not necessarily only grass, but a mixture of
moss, clover, sorrel, selfheal and speedwell . It is the green
stuff that divides the beds and gives visitors somewhere to walk.
I should love to have the ideal velvet sward, but cannot afford
the machinery, chemicals and time in a climate that really just
wants to grow
moss.
Gardeners are always fretting about something, usually the weather
or ground elder. I have decided not to worry about: wear from
visitors' feet, moles, and the damage caused by dogs and children.
The general effect is fine. Just don't look too closely.
